by providing a wide range of evidence from a
variety of sources, including data from the
community;
Action-oriented debate through measurement,
analysis and recommendations;
Public input into the evaluation and
formulation of policy
through national stakeholder reviews of the
draft reports and local forums to elicit
feedback on how to reach the goals (two
forum reports are on the database);
Greater government transparency
by providing, in one place, data that might
otherwise not be easily accessible;
Greater government accountability.
Government responded to all the

2006 publication: Government’s Response to
the Annual Progress Report on National
Social Policy Goals 2003.
